Pictures of Summer - Week 2

Well, the 2nd week of summer was pretty amazing. I was fortunate to spend time totally relaxing with my kiddo in Maui. I was amazed at the daily rainbows and gorgeous sunsets and so grateful to get time to decompress from this last school year - and reenergize for the year to come! It was hard to choose pictures, but these sum things up...

Pictures of Summer - Week 1

So the first week of summer was full of planning for next year. Does that mean it doesn't really count as summer? I don't know. I worked all week with my team to plan a wonderful year that I will not be a part of. But - the teacher who is lucky enough to take over my room will be set. I made all my math copies for the entire year and all the phonics too (except for decodables). Yep - all beginning of the year assessments, practice, quick checks, common core reviews, tests, benchmarks - done. You're welcome unknown teacher.  Pacing is done and a calendar and a plan book are just there waiting for him/her. Hey - putting something good out - hopefully there will be karma as I begin at my new school this fall! I chose this picture to sum up week 1:

2015-2016 is in the Rearview...

Another year in the books! This one is bittersweet because next year holds big changes for me. Not only am I changing grade levels - hello, 4th grade! - but I'm also changing schools. I am super excited for the challenge and I can't wait to see what 2016-2017 brings my way!
Until then, here's my view...

Many Ways...

We learned this year that there are many ways so solve a problem - in math, or in life...

Bee-ing Awesome!

My ELD class continues to amazzzzzzze! We have been delving into all things Bee and have learned so much about these amazing creatures. I shared that I had a bee hive in my tree but was sad one day to see the hive just moved on - hopefully to greener pastures.  We learned how important bees are to humans and spent some time focusing on their features and attributes. My students decided to create their own books about bees and today we worked on how to draw bees accurately.  Their illustrations are bee-utiful! Ok. Enough. On to the awesomeness...
