2015-2016 is in the Rearview...

Another year in the books! This one is bittersweet because next year holds big changes for me. Not only am I changing grade levels - hello, 4th grade! - but I'm also changing schools. I am super excited for the challenge and I can't wait to see what 2016-2017 brings my way!
Until then, here's my view...

2014-2015 is in the Rearview!

Today was our last day of grade level planning for next year. I packed up my room (gotta love having sparkling floors in August) and I look forward to everything the 2015-2016 school year has in store for me!

For now though, this is the shot from my rearview and I'm so excited and so, so ready for a relaxing and productive summer!

Please don't leave...

Hah! Did you get that multiple meaning word there? Leaf.... leave...   My students definitely did because they were rock stars at homophones!

Today, we threw cards to compile next years' classes. I have to say, I'm going to miss these little ones. We've had laughter and tears, some struggles and even more successes, and we've built friendships that may last a lifetime and through it all - we've learned a ton. Like today - we learned that some seeds sprout on their own timetable and we can't compare ours to another.

I hope all my students are proud of their growth. I sure am!

It'll be hard to see them leave.

And so it begins...

With the start of June, I'm beginning to compile all the amazing work my students have done since August. It's funny. When people come in to my room they comment how colorful and awesome it is. The truth is, it's only awesome because my students gave their all to make it awesome. My room will soon be a blank canvas (with cute fabric and kicky borders) ready for the next class to make it their-version-of-awesome. Until then, the stacks of work are getting ready to go home.
