Pictures of Summer - Week 7

Thank you PFC for sending me to the Write From the Beginning...And Beyond training! I am already a Thinking Maps trainer of trainers so I was thrilled to be trained to use Thinking Maps in my writing program. For the last several years I'd been teaching ELA using the Reader's and Writer's Workshop model and I loved it, still do. I integrated TM's into writing daily anyway and the Write From the Beginning program is like my Thinking Map infused Writer's Workshop on steroids and with specific grade level focus. I love it. LOVE it. I really just cannot wait to get in my classroom and start using all of these amazing strategies! So... it may not look like much in pictures, but trust me -this week was a game changer!

Pictures of Summer - Week 6

Vegas baby! Have y'all been to the SDE conferences? OMG. Last year I was lucky to attend the I Teach 2nd conference and this year I was fortunate to attend the Singapore Math conference. Thank you PFC! It was absolutely amazing! I loved Singapore Math before and used it with the littles, but never had a chance to use it for older, mature 4th graders. I am super hyped to teach math this way and can't wait to delve into all that division and fraction goodness! Here are some pics from a fantastic week...

Winner, Winner, Tofurkey Dinner!

Kicking off Spring Break with a little PD in Camarillo - EdCamp was a blast!

And I won a new Chromebook from Acer, which the kids are going to L.O.V.E! Learned all about Twitter (yeah, I'm late to that party) and more about blogging. Actually, this is the first post on my renewed blog - promise to keep up with it this time...

Also, I learned some super cool ways to have an interactive class without SMART or Promethian boards. I'm writing a letter to the Tech Fairy tonight!
Have you ever been to an EdCamp?
