Discovery Cube

Today our class went on an awesome field trip to the Discovery Cube. It's only been open for a little bit - we were their 10th field trip!

OH.MY.GOODNESS! It was great! We were the only school there and the kids had a ball! I've got to say, it was the most stress-free field trip for me. I wasn't in charge and things ran so smoothly.

If you are in the Los Angeles area, this new location in Sylmar is fantastic!

I know these kids are going to remember this day for years and years to come!

Twinkle Has a Sweet Tooth!

Today we were fortunate to go on a field trip to the Discovery Cube Science Center. It was amazing! But before we went we popped in to our room to find Twinkle like this!

I'm guessing she was eating our cookies and then got caught in there when we came in.
Oh that Twinkle! What will she get into next?

Oh Deer! We Love Winter!

So all over Pinterest and IG I saw these adorable reindeer paintings. They were just so cute I knew I had to do them with my class. It was a 'directed draw" and we used watercolor and oil pastels.

Such a great project! I finally tracked down the source, I believe the OG First, and want to give credit here. Click here to go to Artventurous!

Tea for Two! Twinkle Day 7

Last night must have been exhausting for Twinkle because when we came in this morning she was enjoying some relaxing elf time with Oliver, The Littlest Elf.  Maybe they were discussing some important issues in elf culture.  Looks like they enjoyed some treats and tea and then made us a countdown calendar!

I think Oliver is sweet on Twinkle - he gave her a lovely necklace!

Twinkle and Willie Hung Out This Weekend!

While we were off having a relaxing weekend, it looks like Willie and Twinkle might have had a play date.

We came in this morning to find all kinds of evidence that they hung our for a bit. That Twinkle sure makes friends with everyone!

Twinkle and Willie even left little pictures so the entire class could each have one to take home!

All had been going great - THEN, Twinkle got touched.

When we came back from lunch she was laying down and CLEARLY not feeling well. You know elves can lose their magic if children touch them.  I hope she feels better tomorrow!

VIL - Very Important Letters

Yesterday we had a little time to work on our letters to Santa. The students were to include 2 questions, information on their behavior, 2 things they'd like and 1 thing for a friend. They needed to have a closing and a signature, too.

The kids worked so hard on these Very.Important.Letters and they turned out so well.

I asked Twinkle to take them up to the North Pole so Santa could read them. I also asked her to bring them back after they're read so we can hang them up for a bit and send them home :)
