Authentic Writing

We are so excited to get to know our Texan pen pals this year and to write for an authentic purpose! My students were able to guess their state, y'all - and only with a few clues!

This last week we received their awesome letter and super-cute brochure - and now, our first letter to them is on its way!

Pen Pals!

I heard a rumor online that pen pals will be arranged soon (7am Saturday!!!). I'm ready! My kids loved writing postcards last year so I thought I'd make a couple fun postcards for next year's kiddos. Enjoy!

Pen Pals!

We have loved having our North Carolinian pen pals this year. Today we are mailing off our postcards! The students had so much fun learning about all the ways we can write to communicate - but I think postcards are their favorite!

Pen Pals

This year we have Pen Pals! We are really excited to get to know our new North Carolinian friends! First though, we are learning about parts of a friendly letter and practicing putting a letter together in the correct format.
