We are winding up our Native American study with a little lesson in staying On Topic. When we try to really narrow our focus - well - the struggle is REAL, y'all! So we located off topic sentences in writing and now we are working together, using our own research, to create a paragraph that intentionally includes one off topic sentence. Then, I'll be making copies of all these papers and will distribute them so we can work to find our friend's off topic sentence! When we write our final research paper I know I won't have any off topic sentences!

Winter Animal Habitats!
We are having such a great time learning about how animals survive winter. After learning all about adaptation, migration and hibernation, students are using that shared research to write reports. Click here to read about their research. Next week they will publish their reports and share their AWESOME dioramas!
I really want to thank the families for making this project so special for the students. They couldn't wait to show me what y'all worked on and, boy - am I impressed! Check out these amazing habitats!
